Information Note for Parents

Salam alaikum Parents/Guardians,

As we prepare to welcome our students back after the Spring Holidays on Monday, 28th April, the Patron and the Board of Management of the Muslim National School wish to reassure you that we remain fully committed to providing the best education for our students in a safe and secure environment.

We are aware of the current situation regarding the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland (ICCI). However, we would like to clarify that the Muslim National School is an Irish State Recognised National School under the patronage of the Islamic Foundation of Ireland and has no involvement or knowledge of the internal affairs or management of the ICCI.

The safety and well-being of our students and families remain our top priority. We will continue to deliver child-centred teaching and learning in a secure manner, liaising closely with An Garda Síochána and relevant Irish government agencies as needed.

To ensure a smooth reopening, we kindly ask our school community to note the following arrangements:

1. Car Parking
- No car parking will be permitted on the ICCI campus until further notice. The mosque gates will remain locked on the instruction of the Islamic Cultural Centre.
- Cars dropping off children cannot stop on the main road and drop off children. It is important to park in a legal/ appropriate place and walk children to the pedestrian gate.

2. School Access for Students & Staff
- Entry will be via the small pedestrian gate nearest to the school.
- The gate will be open from 8:30 am, with School Management present to welcome students.
- Children will proceed to the schoolyard for free play before school starts at 9:00 am.
- A staggered arrival between 8:30 am and 9:00 am is encouraged for a smoother transition.

3. School Bus Drop-Off
- School buses will not enter the ICCI grounds.
- Children will be dropped off at a designated bus stop near the pedestrian gate.
- Staff will assist students from the bus to the school gate.

4. Late Arrivals & Parent/Visitor Access
- The pedestrian gate will be locked after 9:00 am.
- Parents/visitors with scheduled appointments must call the school office (01-2961340) upon arrival.
- A staff member (and possibly ICCI security) will escort visitors to the school office/hall.
- Where possible, phone consultations with teachers are preferred for the first week back.

5. Prayer Arrangements
- Students will attend prayer in the school hall.
- As the school does not have access to the mosque’s wudu facilities, children will perform dry wudu.

6. Junior & Senior Infant Collection (1:50 pm)
- Parents must collect infants promptly at the pedestrian gate.

7. Afternoon Dismissal (2:50 pm)
- Bus children will be organised into groups and supervised onto buses.
- Walkers/parent collections will be brought to the pedestrian gate area.
- Punctuality is essential for smooth dismissal.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement these measures. Our dedicated staff are working hard to ensure a safe and positive return for all students.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.
